Mike began running tournaments in 1999 with the purpose of running high-quality basketball events associated with great competition and a fun experience for all players and coaches. Mike has run numerous spring, summer and fall events/tournaments over the past 8 years. For the last 5 seasons, Mike has directed the Uconn Ultimate Wave Challenge in Storrs CT which has sold out in each of the past 4 years. Mike's tournaments use only board certified IAABO officials, run on comfortable 1hour and 15 minute or more time blocks and are competitively balanced. Partnering with Swish Sporting Events, Mike now has access to only the best multiple hardwood (Full Size 84 ' or longer) court facilities in the North Central CT and Western Massachusetts. Mike continues to incorporate, athletic trainers, clinics, camps, athlete appearances, awards, and many other extras in all his events. NEW THIS YEAR! Teams that participate in all Mike Alves/Swish Event sponsored tournaments, will be eligible for a $400 or $200 scholarship which will be awarded to one of the participating teams at the conclusion of each tournament held in 2008! Plus, 2 Lucky Players will be presented 2 / $250 Scholarships just for for playing in two or more events held by Swish Event Sports in 2008.(more info)

This year Mike & Swish Sport Events will co-sponsor with the Basketball Hall of Fame and Basketbull LLC to run its first ever Women's LIVE, Division I, II, and III sanctioned tournament in July. Games will be played at Center Court at the basketball Hall of Fame and surrounding gyms. Please click below for more information on any of our upcoming events.
